Dear FSA Families:

Thank you for your participation in Fundamentally Sound Athletics, LLC (FSA).  We are excited to announce our new merger with the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities, a leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Why the merger

FSA began offering its professional services in the fall of 2008 and has grown tremendously over the past seven years. This growth has been predominantly organic and word-of-mouth, stemming from the great referrals of you and our other satisfied clients. The product evolution and training development of our professional team has evolved remarkably. We have attracted high-quality, devoted basketball professionals and invested in their growth and development. As a result of those efforts, we have experienced exponential growth in our client base and brand recognition in the training space.

We decided to seek a merger with another organization that has similar values because we believe it will allow us to provide a wider array of services and a more in-depth sports experience for our members. A larger organization will also mean you will benefit even more from all the new opportunities. Some of the areas of sports growth will be:

  • Expanded basketball offerings
  • Flag football leagues and clinics
  • Soccer skills development clinics and leagues
  • Track and field programs

FSA has partnered with the YMCA on many multi-sport projects over the past few years. Through our partnerships, the YMCA clearly became the best organization for us to continue to best serve you and the community. The YMCA has exceeded our expectations—strong commitment to values, excellent service, sports expertise and dedication to community.

What this means to you

FSA will start operating its services in YMCA locations and around the metro area. Our existing phone numbers and email will continue to be operational for the time being although we anticipate consolidating phone numbers and scheduling personnel soon. Training sessions will continue to take place at our current FSA Training Facility, 12325 Highway 55, in Plymouth.

I have accepted a position as the new Athletic Director for the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities and will guide FSA training within the YMCA. There are several things we want to point out that will not change:

  • You will continue to work with highly skilled trainers.
  • The YMCA will honor our fee structure through 2015.
  • As a valued athlete you will receive a YMCA guest pass through email before the end of the year.

If you have any questions about this exciting news and what it will mean for you, please contact me directly at 612-275-9278. We are grateful to you for giving us the opportunity to provide you with our services and for your continued loyalty. We are confident that our merger with the YMCA will provide more opportunities for you and provide exceptional service.

Best regards,

Thomas Chatman
